Many folks don't have access to acoustically treated studios and commonly use Headphones to avoid acoustical issues in their home studios. When we listen to headphones we dont hear the audio in the same way we do when we hear sounds coming at us in rooms. Due to this phenomenon, much research has been done by Harman to try to come up with an agreed upon frequency response curve target that gives us the experience of listening to flat speakers in a treated studio might be like. Furthermore there is an awesome github site that has a huge collection of free IR waveforms that you can place in a convolution reverb and calibrate your headphones to the Harman target curve for free! Here I use Ableton Hybrid Reverb to do this.
