Jung enters the crater and meets Elijah. The embodiment of the Logos, and Salome, the beautiful, dangerous anima. But there’s a problem: in the biblical imagination, John the Baptist mirrors Elijah… and Salome is the one who asks for John’s head. Jung is caught between reason’s prophet and desire’s princess.

This short unpacks why Salome unsettles Jung: she threatens the “heroic purity” he just assassinated by confronting him with raw impulse. We connect Elijah (order/word) and Salome (feeling/eros) to individuation: wholeness comes from holding opposites, not choosing one.
