We crossed a major hike off our list. A route completely unknown to most backpackers, we hiked from the East side of Kauai into the Hanalei Valley.

Following the Kauai Tunnel Trail then down the Hanalei River. With how overgrown the tunnel trail was, we got to spend an extra night in our Haven Tents! #Bonus

A word of caution: 12 miles down a river may seem easy, but this is a dangerous and grueling trek. Every minute of this hike you are one twisted ankle, flash flood, or wild boar away from being in real danger.
