You might have heard before that samurai favored dragonflies as designs for their armor and katana decorations. And that the reason is that “Dragonflies only fly forward, and never backward.”
However many professionals have pointed out that this is false. Dragonflies are capable of flying in any direction, and they have one of the best mobility among all insects. Then have samurai all believed in a lie for centuries?
When I was talking with my tea master, she taught me a completely different theory. Samurai favored dragonflies, because “Dragonflies have a habit of stopping at the tips of objects” Because many samurai wanted to become one that can be on top, they chose dragonfly designs for their belongings.
I’ve never heard of or seen this idea anywhere else, but I was convinced! What are your opinions??
