Hey everyone! This month's hat is inspired by Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. This hat is super fun and as sizes for all ages. With just a simple change of colors and one extra eye you could adapted this hat into Sully. Please send your recreation to me through Facebook or Twitter I would love to see your monsters. Clover Bamboo 16" circular and double pointed needles size 8 (5mm)
I Love This Yarn in Lime Light
Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in Black, White and Light Blue
Caron Simply Soft Yarn in Bone

Sizes:
Child 4/6 (8/10, Woman, Man)

Gauge:
17 sts and 32 rows = 4" in garter st.

Instructions: (in circular knitting)
Cast on 76 (80, 84, 92)
Row 1: Purl
Row 2: Knit
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 until piece measures 5 (5, 6 1/2, 8)" ending on a purl row.

Decreases:
Sizes: 4/6, Woman and Mens only:
Row 1: *K17, (19, 21); K2tog; rep from * around - 72 (80, 88) sts
Row 2: Purl

All sizes:
Row 3: *K7 (8, 8, 9), K2tog; rep from * around - 64 (72, 72, 80) sts
Rows 4 and all even rows: Purl
Row 5: *K6 (7, 7, 8), K2tog; rep from * around - 56 (64, 64, 72) sts
Row 7: *K5 (6, 6, 7), K2tog; rep from * around - 48 (56, 56, 64) sts
Row 9: *K4 (5, 5, 6), K2tog; rep from * around - 40 (48, 48, 56) sts
Row 11: *K3 (4, 4, 5), K2tog; rep from * around - 32 (40, 40, 48) sts
Row 13: *K2 (3, 3, 4), K2tog; rep from * around - 24 (32, 32, 40) sts
Row 15: *K1 (2, 2, 3), K2tog; rep from * around - 16 (24, 24, 32) sts
Row 16: Purl

Size 4/6 only:
Row 17: *K2tog; rep from * around - 8 sts

Sizes 8/10, Woman and Men only:
Row 17: *K (1, 1, 2), K2tog; rep from * around - (16, 16, 24) sts

Size Men only:
Row 18: Purl
Row 19: *K1, K2tog; rep from * around - 16 sts

All Sizes:
Cut yarn and finish off hat.

Eye:
Using black, Cast on 6 sts
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: *Kf&b; rep from * across - 12 sts
Row 3: Knit

Cut black yarn and begin using blue.

Row 4: K2, Kf&b, K2, Kf&b (twice), K2, Kf&b, K2 - 16 sts
Row 5: Knit
Row 6: K3, Kf&b, K3, Kf&b (twice), K3, Kf&b, K3 - 20 sts
Row 7: Knit

Cut blue yarn and begin using white.

Row 8: K4, Kf&b, K4, Kf&b (twice), K4, Kf&b, K4 - 24 sts
Row 9: Knit
Row 10: K5, Kf&b, K5, Kf&b (twice), K5, Kf&b, K5 - 28 sts
Row 11: Knit
Row 12: K6, Kf&b, K6, Kf&b (twice), K6, Kf&b, K6 - 32 sts
Row 13: Knit bind off.

With right sides facing (wrong side has the color dashes) sew side seam of eye. Weaving black yarn around center opening and pull closed. Attach to the center front of hat.

Horns:
Using tan, Cast on 10 sts
Row 1 & 2: Knit
Row 3: K2tog, K8
Row 4 and all even rows: Knit
Row 5: K2tog, K7
Row 7: K2tog, K6
Row 9: K2tog, K5
Row 11: K2tog, K4
Row 13: K2tog, K3
Row 15: K2tog, K2
Row 17: Kf&b, K2
Row 19: Kf&b, K3
Row 21: Kf&b, K4
Row 23: Kf&b, K5
Row 25: Kf&b, K6
Row 27: Kf&b: K7
Row 29: Kf&b, K8
Row 31: Knit bind off.

Fold your horn in half and sew both sides, then attach the bottom to the top of your hat. Make another horn and attach and enjoy!

k2tog = knit next 2 stitches together

kf&b = knit in the front and back of the stitch
