Hey everyone! This is another stitch pattern for our Crochet Challenge blanket. This is square #44 and it's the cluster braid. Pattern is written for the stitch alone and below that is the blanket square pattern. Hope you guys enjoy this one.

Items Used:
Boye Aluminum Crochet Hook size H/8 (5mm)
Caron Simply Soft Yarn in Rubine Red

Instructions:
Ch multiples of 14 + 2
Row 1 (right side): Dc in third ch from hook and in each st across.
Row 2: Ch1, turn; sc in each dc across
Row 3: Ch3, turn; *dc in next 2 sc, work FPdc (front post double crochet) around post of dc below sc, skip sc behind FPdc, dc in next 2 sc, Cluster (YO, FPdc in fourth dc from last FPdc, YO draw through 2 loops) 3 times, YO draw through all 4 loops on hook, skip sc behind cluster, dc in next 2 sc, work Cluster around post of next dc, dc in next 2 sc, FPdc next dc below sc st, dc in next 2 sc; rep from * across.
Row 4: Ch1, turn; sc in each st across.
Row 5: Ch 3, turn; *dc in next 2 sc, FPdc around last FPdc, dc in next 2 sc, Cluster, dc in next 2 sc, Cluster, dc in next 2 sc, FPdc around last FPdc, dc in next 2 sc; rep from * across.

Repeat Rows 4 & 5 to form pattern.

With Green ch 26 loosely.
Row 1 (rightside): Dc in fourth ch from hook and in each ch across: 24 sts.
Note: Loop a short piece of yarn or use a removable stitch marker to mark this row as right side.
Row 2: Ch1, turn; sc in each dc across
Row 3: Ch3, turn; dc in next 6 sc, work FPdc (front post double crochet) around post of dc below sc, skip sc behind FPdc, dc in next 2 sc, Cluster (YO, FPdc in fourth dc from last FPdc, YO draw through 2 loops) 3 times, YO draw through all 4 loops on hook, skip sc behind cluster, dc in next 2 sc, work Cluster around post of next dc, dc in next 2 sc, FPdc next dc below sc st, dc in next 7 sc - 24 sts
Row 4: Ch1, turn; sc in each st across.
Row 5: Ch 3, turn; dc in next 6 sc, FPdc around last FPdc, dc in next 2 sc, Cluster, dc in next 2 sc, Cluster, dc in next 2 sc, FPdc around last FPdc, dc in next 7 sc - 24 sts
