Why the battery indicator is so useless and how it can be improved …

In the very first video about the Haswing Protruar 2.0 24V Trolling Motor I noticed that the battery charge indicator is completely useless (link below). So let’s find out what makes it tick and how we can improve it.
First we recap the problem with the battery indicator. Then we reverse engineer its circuit and measure its accuracy. After we determine why it’s so inaccurate we finally come up with some potential improvements to it.
