Evaluating options to fix the reference voltage issue and other shortcomings …
↓↓↓ Complete description, time index and links below ↓↓↓
Last time we’ve implemented the first version of our RS-485 master-slave protocol (link below). Anyway, while doing some housekeeping in video 14 we’ve discovered a fatal flaw in the analog frontend of the ADC (link below). Let’s fix that flaw!
After a recap of the core problem we have a look at other shortcomings of our circuit. Then we go through several improved circuit variants and have a look at the op amp I’m planning to use. Finally we talk about quieting the power rail.
00:00 Intro – let’s redesign the analog circuitry
01:09 Recap – too much load on voltage reference
04:33 Other shortcomings – of the analog circuitry
07:59 Improvements – versioning circuit branches
08:19 Reference 1 – using another voltage reference
09:01 Reference 2 – buffering the voltage reference
09:33 Reference 3 – boosting the voltage reference
09:59 Current 1 – simplified with boosted reference
11:07 Voltage 1 – adjusted for boosted reference
12:04 Reference 2 again – but using a quad op amp
12:31 Current 2 – differential amp for dynamic range
13:54 Voltage 2 – differential amp for dynamic range
14:55 4th op amp – would be wasted / is not needed
15:26 Temperature 1 – integrated analog sensor
17:19 Your thoughts – about those circuits?
17:40 Quad op amp – Texas Instrument TLV9144
24:02 Your opinion – about the TLV9144?
24:24 Voltage supply – a quite linear regulated rail
26:39 Wrap-up – there will be a video next week, bye
