Clark Haass is on a mission. He wants to bring people to the table to eat hash and enjoy each others company. That's right, to Haass, author of author of “Hashcapades: The Art of the Perfect Hash Adventure—it's not just about the food, it's the social experience around the eating.
By its very nature, hash is a concoction food, that can be improvised with available ingredients in short order and it's fun to cook and eat.
The Hashcapades events began at Portland area restaurants where Haass invited the public to experience the variety of hash dishes as interpreted by different chefs. Promoted through social media, these gatherings grew in popularity which also helped Haass to collect new recipes and test his own variations which ultimately formed the basis of his book.
This is an easy idea to adopt in your area whether at local restaurants or potluck dinners that become hash inspired affairs.
