This is the Japanese Sega Pink I-Dog Mini that I bought from Amazon back in 2019 for only $25.99 brand new! She fully works with no issues which is great and is the first ever Sega I-Dog Mini I bought on the same day along with the other two colors (Silver & Blue) which all came from the same seller and I also happen to have in my collection, when I’ve found out about the Japanese Sega I-Dog Minis that exist and how different they are from the Hasbro I-Dog Pups we know of already. For the pitch she has, she’s in between normal and high which is pretty cool for this little pup!
She’s also yellowed as she came like that when I first got her, but I do really want to get her retrobrited soon where she can go back to her original color but overall, I still enjoy her a whole lot. When I eventually get her retrobrited, I’ll do a new/updated demo of her in action as this will do for now.
The Japanese Sega I-Dog Minis are really unique because they have different features that the US I-Dog Pups don’t have which are lacking the try me switch, get lower pitched when running on lower batteries, move differently where it’s like off sync at some points when playing the riffs (it’s more noticeable in Lonely and Happy), take five secs to turn off (while the I-Dog Pups take two secs), and is a little more shiner in color for the paint job it has on each one than the 2005 I-Dog Pups. They’re almost identical but not actually even that close. The Japanese Sega 2005/2006 I-Dog Minis were produced by Sega Toys and released exclusively in Japan in early 2006, as the second run of the earlier model I-Dog Pups known as “I-Dog Mini” before the US Hasbro I-Dog Pups came out as the improved models (and name of the I-Dog calling them “I-Dog Pup” as the official one) that have a few more cooler features that the Japanese Sega I-Dog Minis don’t have.
Super glad to have this one and I especially love the unique Pop Riffs it plays too! It’s also very rare to find just like all three of the produced colors of the Sega I-Dog Minis have always been hard to find, but is starting to become extremely rare nowadays since they haven’t been showing up for sale much lately than they used to, even on Japan shopping websites. This is seriously a really cool I-Dog to have with the different features it has which were later updated for the US Hasbro I-Dog Pups after the Minis were released during the early 2006 era of the I-Dog’s popularity where they sold really well back then in the good old days.

It was the first color of the Sega I-Dog Minis produced and also the one and only I-Dog to have a unique genre of pop. It plays a total of 12 Riffs which is divided into three remixed riffs in each mood it has except sick. The Pink Sega 2005/2006 I-Dog Mini was released exclusively in Japan back in early 2006 along with the other two Sega I-Dog Minis (the Silver and Blue ones) after the success of the Original 2005 I-Dog selling really well (along with the Japanese Sega I-Dog but mainly the Original 2005 I-Dog) and it was the time when more newer I-Dogs were in the making, one of which are the Sega I-Dog Minis that were produced by Sega Toys and released before the 2005 model I-Dog Pups (which came out in mid 2006) and there is also Canadian/UK model I-Dog Minis (which came in all four colors) that were released exclusively in Canada and UK, which came out first before the Japanese Sega I-Dog Minis (which came only in three colors). They definitely sold really well in the past years of the popularity of the I-Dog rising more and more during the early 2000s. Turn up your music loud, and watch her dance along to it and will flash her orange lights to the rhythm while getting it down to the music playing. The Sega I-Dog Minis have fantastic musical skills, despite being a tiny puppy I-Dog, and plays very good riffs to describe how he/she feels by how much you play/take care of it by giving attention (double nose clicks) and plenty of music it needs from you! Perfect for those who are a big fan of Pop just like this I-Dog Mini plays them in it’s own special way.
