On Harriet Tubman Day, three women committed to the liberation of Black women from toxic jobs are coming together for a powerful conversation about what freedom actually looks like after you leave.
Joining this discussion are Dr. Kimani Norrington-Sands, Marissa Price, MSW, and myself. We affectionately refer to one another as “Sister Harriet” because like Harriet Tubman, who guided enslaved people to freedom using the North Star, we are each committed to helping Black women recognize when their workplace has become harmful and guiding them toward liberation.
During this conversation, the three Sister Harriets will talk honestly about what life looks like after liberating ourselves from toxic jobs, and the work we now do to help other Black women find their path to freedom. Leaving a toxic job is rarely just about employment. It is often about unlearning the belief that we must endure harm in order to survive. And like Harriet Tubman guiding others to freedom, this conversation is about lighting the path so other Black Women can see what is possible.
We will also announce that registration for the 3rd Annual Job Liberation Virtual Summit for Black Women (May 1st - May 3rd) is now open. a transformative learning experience where Black Women come together to create their personalized exit plan from toxic jobs.
At the Summit, you will learn from a community of more than 20 Black Women speakers who will share strategies for:
• Replacing income
• Navigating health insurance options
• Protecting retirement
• Creating financial and psychological freedom
• Exit planning based on your timeline
To protect the privacy of participants, Summit attendees will not be visible on camera. Only Summit speakers will appear on screen.
