Did you notice the blue easter egg in this animation? After the Manhattan tracks of the Third Avenue Elevated were dismantled in the 1950s, a portion of the line in the Bronx stayed in service. From 1967 until the line closed in 1973, it was designated as the 8 train on maps. However, all cars on the train read “Shuttle” on their roll signs.
