Probably the easiest build to do this with.. The only issue was getting the good hammer skills.
The Spears DPS drops off pretty hard mid-game but it becomes amazing once you have Exploding Launcher and Charged Skewer together.. Unfortunately I never see a 2nd hammer until Elysium, and then you have to wait until the end of the game to trade hammers or get another Hermes. I really feel like they could have made Asphodel a few chambers longer and made Hermes and 2nd hammers available sooner.
