Great Western heavy goods locomotive '2857' is seen on its final two runs before being with withdrawn from service where it will take a much earned rest. There is currently no plans for an immediate overhaul and I'd hazard a guess it will take up its retirement in the engine house at Highley where It will put to bed alongside an array of former greats which have once worked across the Severn Valley in the decades gone by. Today is a sad loss for the Severn Valley Railway and for those who are responsible for its existence.
