Guwange is a really sick shmup that I always wanted to clear. Now I finally got around to doing it. I love how Japanese everything is and I especially enjoy its OST.
This game is unique in various ways. For one, the stage backgrounds are actual maps that your character walks around in; you cannot walk through walls! It's not just a background image that you're walking on. You have a shikigami with you, your option, which will damage enemies it's on top of and *can* roam freely around the screen. It also turns bullets pink when it touches them, slowing them down a lot. There's also a healthbar instead of lives. There are no extends; however, there are healing items that will heal various amounts of health, as well as bomb items. In fact, this game is quite generous with resources, even offering a full heal in Stage 6.
