"Liberté" (Pulaar: 𞤐𞤁𞤋𞤃𞤓; "Freedom") is the national anthem of Guinea. Adopted upon independence in 1958, it was arranged by Fodéba Keïta and is based on the melody of a Maninka praise song by Korofo Moussa for 19th-century Fouta Djallon king Alpha Yayo Diallo.
The national flag of Guinea (French: drapeau national de la Guinée) is a triband of red, yellow, and green. It was adopted on 10 November 1958, with the publication of the country's first Constitution.
According to Sékou Touré, first President of Guinea, the three colors of the flag represent the following: red symbolizes the blood of anti-colonialist martyrs, the labor of the working classes, and the wish for progress; yellow represents Guinean gold, as well as the sun, which is "the source of energy, generosity and equality for all men to which he gives light equally"; and green represents the country's vegetation, continued prosperity arising from its natural resources, and the historically difficult life of the Guinean masses who live in the countryside.

![Waving flag and National Anthem of East Germany, Auferstanden aus Ruinen, (historical)
Auferstanden aus Ruinen (English: Risen from Ruins, lit. Resurrected out [of] Ruins) is a German patriotic song that was the national anthem of East Germany during its existence from 1949 to 1990. In 1949, the Soviet occupation zone of Allied-occupied Germany became a socialist state under the name of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). For the nascent states national anthem, the poet Johannes Becher, who later became the East German Minister of Culture, wrote the lyrics. Two musicians, Ottmar Gerster and Hanns Eisler, proposed music to Bechers lyrics, and Eislers version was selected. This recording is an alternative version.
The flag of East Germany was the official national flag of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) during its existence from 1959 to 1990. The flags design and symbolism are derived from the flag of the Weimar Republic and communist symbolism. The flag was outlawed as an unconstitutional and criminal symbol in West Germany and West Berlin, where it was referred to as the Spalterflagge (secessionist flag) until the late 1960s.
