Grotto Falls is a popular hiking destination in the Smoky Mountains. From what I understand, it is the only waterfall in the park that you can actually walk behind, making it a pretty unique experience. The total hike from the road is only 2.8 miles round-trip, so even the little ones can enjoy this awesome waterfall. My two daughters (10 and 7) did fine for this.
In this video I show what you can expect from the hike and falls. After having hiked it, I would strongly suggest that you consider hiking to it very early in the morning as it has a tendency to get busy during the day.
