Steve and Caleb are back at the Big Spring Shooting Complex to put the Grit Grips Glock® 19 clone build through its paces on the range. After completing the pistol in our previous build video, it is time to see how the Grit Grips frame feels and performs during live fire.
This build uses the Flat Dark Earth Grit Grips Glock® 19 Gen 3 compatible frame with Brownells Gen 3 parts, a Brownells Premium optic-cut slide, Viridian red dot, AmeriGlo MOS-height sights, and an extended slide catch. The frame also uses a reversible Gen 4-style magazine catch, giving it a larger surface area and making it reversible for left-handed shooters.
On the range, Steve and Caleb focus on what really makes the Grit Grips frame stand out: ergonomics. The pronounced backstrap helps position the hand higher on the pistol, while the subtle palm swell, slim grip profile, and textured gas pedal provide additional control. After several runs on the plate rack, both shooters come away impressed with how naturally the frame handles.
We also discuss sight height with the Brownells optic-cut slide, Glock® parts compatibility, the available Grit Grips magwell, and the 43X-size frame option for an even slimmer build.
