Material is .187" thick 1075 steel. Already heat treated. Belt is a wore out Cubitron 120 Grit. For this type of bevel even a tired belt is sufficient. Belt speed is 7000 SFPM. I torture test belts and equipment to see how much life they can deliver. There is a bearing sound from the platen roller bearings that are very well used and abused. Seeing how long it takes to kill them. This set has been in use for 3 years. They have been over tightened with bolt axles which damaged them about a year ago. Now they are running on shoulder bolt axles which do not apply any side load to the bearings. I attribute the shoulder bolt to their extended albeit noisy long life after the side load damage.
