Here's my suggestion - mix up some paints and play! Give yourself the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them. You'll surprise yourself - I guarantee it. And you'll have lots of fun!
Now grab yourself some paints and BE FEARLESS!

For this video, my cloud mix recipe is: 2 parts pouring medium - 1 part Artists Loft White - 1 part DecoArt Satin Enamel - water to a thin consistency.
My neutral color palette was inspired by my friend @bakermodernart - check out her channel for more amazing art!

I'm also teaching at the Fluid Art Experience conference in Dallas, Texas on September 27-29! Rather than specific techniques, I will be running 2 skills development workshops... The first is all about Cells & Lacing. Using different ingredients, consistencies and techniques, you'll learn the science of WHY different kinds of cells develop, and how to control when and where they appear. And the second workshop is How to Experiment (which is my favorite thing to do), Troubleshoot and Find Your Unique Style. In this workshop, the most important thing you'll learn is how to teach yourself! We'll also develop strategies for identifying mistakes and duplicating successes, and how to recognize your strengths so that you can develop your own unique style. Put on your lab coat and come paint with me in Dallas!

I 'rescue' any paint that gets spun or tilted off by scraping it off of the table, straining it and saving it to use as a base coat for future pours. Very little waste!
