These frosted glass and northern lights ornaments are so easy to make - and fun too! I think the possibilities are endless and I can't wait to make more! Let me know what you think in the comments.
Want to know the secret to learning fluid art? Mix up some paints and play! Give yourself the freedom to make mistakes and learn from them. You'll surprise yourself - I guarantee it. And you'll have lots of fun!
Now grab yourself some paints and BE FEARLESS!
My custom pouring medium: 2 parts US Floetrol, 1 part PVA glue (similar to Elmer's Glue All, 1 part gloss varnish.
Pearl Mix: 2 parts pouring medium, 1 part DecoArt Satin Enamel White, 1 part Artist's Loft Soft Body White, 1.5 part water. Super thin consistency - leaves no mound or trace when drizzled off of the stir stick.
Cell activator: 3 parts Australian Floetrol, 1 part JoSonja Pale Gold (slightly thicker consistency than pearl mix)
Amsterdam Greenish Blue and Amsterdam Pearl Violet were mixed 2 parts pouring medium to 1 part paint and thinned with water. Same consistency as the Cell Activator works best.
If you'd like to support my channel and collaborate with the BEST and most supportive group of artists, join Nate's Art Lab on Patreon! We do monthly challenges, behind the scenes experiments, share our beautiful art, new and crazy ideas for techniques, and trouble shoot problems together!

You can now purchase my art online! Visit galeria1084.com to browse through my available pieces, and art from more than 30 other artists who also live in Costa Rica! Acrylic, oil and mixed media fine art; gold and silver jewelry; glass art; ceramics; sculpture; indigenous art; basketry and lots more!
I 'rescue' any paint that gets spun or tilted off by scraping it off of the table, straining it and saving it to use as a base coat for future pours. Very little waste!
