π Data centres have become an invisible part of our daily lives, facilitating:
π¬ streaming of films, π² social media networks and critically supporting πindustry and πΆ financial institutions. Data centres use massive amounts of β‘οΈelectricity & π§water, and consumption is set to increase.
However there is also a huge potential to reduce energy consumption, via various best practices, from cooling techniques to more efficient use of servers and software.
We interviewed a winner of the European Code of Conduct for Data Centres, run by the JRC, to find out how data centres can become more sustainable and how the code of conduct helped.
