First steam gala of the year was at Great Central Railway over the last weekend of January, held with two noteable steam visitors to the line with one engine hasn't visited the line in 20 years!
LNER B12 no.8572 visited from North Norfolk Railway an engine hasn't seen on the railway in 20 years back on the mainline! Also another new engine visited the line was LMS Crab no.13065 looking gorgeous in its pre-LMS colour which was visiting from East Lancashire Railway.
Home fleet was out and about too with BR Standard 2MT no.78018, BR Ivatt 2MT no.46521, BR 9F no.92214, LMS 8F no.48624 (last gala appearance - possibly), LMS 3F Jinty class no.47406 & Austerity J9F no.68067.
