British Loco Films | 45596 Bahamas Dorset Coast Express July & August 2023 @BritishLocoFilms | Uploaded August 2023 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
First time since 2017 I've lasted seen the Dorset Coast Express, this year it reverted back to Wednesday's for this year trips so day off from work can make me to see this tour once again.
Double chimney Jubilee 45596 Bahamas was in action over the two dates of 26th July & 2nd August on the route from London to Weymouth with the weather set as wet and sunny weather.
Starting off an wet Winchester station as it slows down for a double yellow after following an Portsmouth harbour service later We see 45596 doing the same though Southampton Airport parkway station in the Sun. After its usual water stop at Beaulieu Road station, Bahamas getting to grips though Brockenhurst later see it at Wool with some unseasonable winds.
There should be the SR U class Mogul 31806 should return to mainline scene again to haul 45596 back from Weymouth to Southampton however due to apparent gauging issues and water pathing stop for Bahamas it stayed at Swanage whilst BR Class 47 no.47802 done the return leg back to Southampton. Shame I wanted to see 31806 in action again.
Return was at Redbridge station near Totton in Southampton where 47802 dragging the stock and Bahamas back to Southampton, the 45596 hauls the tour onto the Salisbury line and later slowing down for a signal check at Mottisfont & Dunbridge station.
Enjoy!
