Who butts heads with your parents over grandkid visits? Do they respect your boundaries?
I talk with so many parents my age that deal with this.
Parents set the boundaries for their kids in all situations. Visitors and hosts need to respect the parent's boundaries for their kids. Period.
Boundaries can be discussed and mutual beneficial boundaries can be made... but at the end of the day, the boundaries should be respected.
One note - there are some situations where the parents are toxic and the grandparents aren't and that kind of situation has its own nuance.
