I initially posted this video after the huge spec 2 update dropped in late 2023 when the massive custom race payout buffs were implemented, making them better than the best paying world circuit events like the 30 minute group 4 Le Mans race, my personal go to event before that update. I was hesitant to post that video because soon after I did, I quickly had to take it down after Polyphony nerfed them as it quickly became obsolete. And they're still nerfed but after trying this method again, I did the math and found that you can still make money faster than the normal high paying events if you set everything up right. For this to work you'll need a Honda Beat and the SRT Tomahawk X. The Tomahawk is in Brand Central for $1 million and is the fastest & most powerful car in the game. The Honda Beat is very cheap, but is only found in the used dealership where the lineup randomly rotates. So if you don't already have it, you'll have to check back on a daily basis until it shows up. You'll also need your car collector level maxed out to buy the engine swap for your Honda Beat, it also directly affects how much money you can get in custom races. The max level right now is 50, but Polyphony will release a huge spec 3 update in a few months which will raise the max level cap. Once you have the engine swap, get all the other best upgrades for it. Then you'll need to make 2 setups for it as well as one for the Tomahawk. I showed all 3 setups at the beginning of the video, including specific upgrades you'll want to have equipped on each, pay very close attention to that here. One of the tunes for the Honda Beat aims to have the car under 300 performance points, the other one is the one you'll actually be using. The gear setup is the most important part here, same with the Tomahawk.
Once finished go and set up a custom race at the Daytona oval with the settings I showed. Save the settings once your done so you won't have to do it all over again later. Make sure you have all gold medals for everything in circuit experience mode for Daytona as this also ties in with custom race payouts. Once you've selected the track, it should show on the left your total bonus percentage for race payouts for quick and custom races for that track, it should say 400%. If it doesn't, you haven't completed both of the above objectives yet. Set the race to 15 laps, put yourself at the back of the 20 car grid, set it to a custom lineup and make all the AI’s drive the Tomahawk with the setup you made, while you enter with the Honda Beat. It's very important that you load it up with the sub 300 PP setup applied as the performance point gap between you and the AI’s, in this case nearly 1,100 points, plays heavily into the race payout. This is basically a bait setup just to cheat the system. Once the race loads immediately switch to your actual setup to trick the game, then just do the race. Set the nitrous system usage time multiplier to the max x10 to make it last much longer. Set the race to a rolling start and the rolling start interval between cars to the max to make passing cars cleanly much easier.
It's very important that you make your way to the front without touching another car, as even one small tap will take away the 50% clean race bonus and you really need this. You can hit the wall as much as you'd like, although I'd still avoid it if you can. With this setup you don't have to slow down for the corners at all if you take them correctly. When entering a turn, just let off the nitrous until your speed drops down to about 245 MPH, then start using it again, and rinse & repeat. The way I have the gears set up, 5th gear is for with nitrous and 4th gear is for without it. And you'll most likely run out within the last 2 laps or so. I set the gears up for the Tomahawk so that they're only a little slower than you. That way once you pass them all you don't have to worry about them again as you shouldn't catch them in time to lap them before the end. Plus this also helps with making passing them cleanly easier. They'll all get away from you at the start but you should quickly run them back down. You should be able to pass them all within the first 3 laps. Of course many tutorial videos have been done on this method already. Maybe I didn't look hard enough, but the one I saw that used this car didn't have a fully optimized setup and was taking them nearly 11 minutes to finish the race. With this optimized setup you can finish the 15 lap race in under 9 minutes. On a really good lap you can get under 35 seconds here. You’ll get $319,500 with the clean race bonus, allowing you to make over $2.2 million in just over an hour.
