To kick off 2026, I'm returning to the series I've basically abandoned for an entire year now. Next up in my "longest possible races in racing games" series is Burnout 3 Takedown. This one was a bit different from every other one I've done up to this point as you can't actually choose the number of laps before starting a race. It’s just always 2 laps for the game’s longest tracks, and 3 laps for all the rest, aside from the point-to-point tracks. Hence why this is the shortest one yet. So I had to make 100% sure I picked the longest track & the slowest car for this one. After going through my lap records for every track, plus some extra testing for good measure, I found Tropical Drive from the Asia region to be the longest track and the type 2 compact to be the slowest car. The only thing I can actually choose regarding race settings is the number of rivals on track, so of course that was at the max. And from there the battle was on.
