This is part 22 of my quest mode walkthrough on the 2025 version of TXR. This is the 3rd and final segment for stage 5. This is a pivotal episode for the series as we complete stage 5 here and ultimately finish the main story of the game & trigger the ending credits as we take down Eternal Polaris, Snake Eyes, and Swift Emperor, all twice each proving we’re the top dog of the so called “4 Novas” or the top 4 street racers of the new generation. Then followed by the legendary tuner himself, Machine Light King. And secondly, finally getting to use our new car that made beating all these high profile rivals so much easier, our Nissan R35 GT-R. Our R34 Skyline had 405 PS tuned up, the R35 GT-R has 550 PS completely unmodified. And after tuning it up, that number shot up to 892 PS, well over double what the R34 had, and there's still more room to tune it further as there's still 2 engine upgrades left to get. We had a hard time hitting 200 MPH before, now 300 MPH shouldn't be an issue reaching at some point with this thing. This is why I wanted this car so badly, it's basically a cheat code for the rest of the game. And after how much we've struggled the last few episodes, it feels so good to be kicking ass again. Once we get the gear ratios properly set up to take full advantage of all this power, we will be absolutely unstoppable.
It cost us a pretty penny to buy & max out, but it was worth every bit of it. Any cars we buy from this point on will just be to fulfill wanderer requirements as they're all that's left to do now starting next episode. I have to say I was a little surprised though to see I unlocked the option to begin a New Game+ this early after only finishing the main game. In past TXR games that had this feature, mainly TXR2 and TXR3, you had to beat the final boss to be able to use this feature. It's basically starting from the beginning again, except with all of your money & cars from your previous save carried over. It's kind of weird for me to say that this is the first time I've ever had the option to be able to use this feature in a TXR game, as I never completed TXR2, and TXR3 on the North American version is impossible to complete to 100% thanks to a critical oversight. And the TXR games that I have 100% completed, the original TXR from 1999 and TXR Zero, both sadly don't have a New Game+ feature. Of course I won't be doing that yet as we still have one last stage left to overcome first.
