For the last two years, I have reviewed dozens of instances of sovereign citizens claiming to be "sovereign" from the US. They have certain traits - refusal to submit to jurisdiction, refusal to abide by all of our laws, etc. I think this is partly due to being deceived by gurus who sell them "cheat codes" that make them think they are acting lawfully. Some believe that they are immune from traffic violations, immune from paying taxes, and even believe they are sovereign from our laws. Well, they are wrong. The US has forms to fill out where a person can lawfully renounce their "nationality." These are irrevocable acts, and are treated as permanent. Simply walking around claiming to be "sovereign" has no legal effect except in the rarest of instances, such as time of war. While these forms are meant for situations where it must be renounced, these same forms share some of the ideology. The major problem is that by signing these forms, you will become an illegal alien in the US, and before signing you must have a country that will accept you. Otherwise, you will become "stateless," and can be imprisoned here in the US with nowhere else to go. While declaring their sovereignty, I've never seen any of them fill out these forms. Once signed, you are permanently screwed, except for a narrow exception that will be take substantial effort to overcome. If you sign these forms with an intent to avoid taxes, it could be held to be invalid. Rules abound. The irony is that the sovcit looking to be officially not part of the US in terms of their nationality, must submit to this country's authority, and fill out its forms. Ironic, huh? Finally, don't be mad that I am exposing the truth. The gurus selling you this bullshit would never dare sign these documents. assuming you are talking to one who isn't already in prison now.
