John 19:30

“It is finished.” Three simple words in English. But only one in Greek: Tetelestai. It’s a legal and financial term meaning the debt is paid in full. Nothing can be added, because nothing is owed. To think we can improve upon what Jesus did on the cross to achieve forgiveness from God is lunacy and blindness. It is finished. Let the finality of those three words fill you with awe and astonishment.
