Good-bye, baby girl. 💔
Bella passed away in her sleep on June 11th. It was devastating, but even more so because we weren’t in the country.
While hiking the Camino in Portugal to Spain, George had a medical emergency and had to be hospitalized for 3 days. If it wasn’t for our amazing pet sitter, pet guardian angel and now part of the family, Kirra, he may have died.
After many tests and a blood transfusion, he came home on June 11th. Kirra says Bella immediately went outside, sniffed him, and licked him. From there, she went and lay down and never got up again.
I know she was waiting for her buddy George to come home, and also doing her death her way. Which is how baby girl rolled.
As soon as we found out, we were on the first flight home.
To say she was the best dog is an understatement. She’s been by our sides for 13.5 years.
She was my assistant coach at every class I taught. My hiking partner, my pizza buddy (she loved a good crust), and my best friend.
Her memory will live on in my heart and also in my YouTube and OFF videos. She is still appearing in some videos that are to be released.
I won’t be sad when I see her in a video, though. I’ll be grateful.
Grateful to have shared a life with her.
