A health break-point related exploit that leads to the Chimera becoming tame, among other oddities.
Chimera is a special boss enemy that you're supposed to defeat with the mini-game QTE. There's a certain HP break-point at which the Chimera becomes stunned in each of its phases. However, if the boss is in the middle of getting Ice Raged while going under that break-point, it won't become stunned at all.
I used the Fire Rage bomb as a setup for causing delayed damage while making this video, but other combinations like Soul Rage might be possible as well.
This glitch might work with other monsters in the game as well... it will require some testing.
0:00 - first, everything seems to work normally. However, you'll soon notice that the Chimera seems to have much more health than before since it will never get stunned again no matter how much you damage it. And damage killing doesn't seem to be an option either. In other words... the fight is now unwinnable.
0:16 - As another suspicious side effect, Chimera may randomly start using attacks from the later phases while the glitch is active. This usually happens in reaction to some specific attacks from Kratos.
0:33 - Once you damage the Chimera enough - perhaps past 0 HP? - it becomes completely tame. It no longer attacks Kratos outside of doing a passive tail whip counter which cannot even hit him at the moment. It will also curiously follow Kratos around, as if playing tag with him. It also cannot be frozen or even chilled from this point onward.
1:13 - for some unknown reason that might not be related to damage, Chimera can still enter one different phase after this. It happens seemingly randomly when I continue using Fire Rage and Ice Rage. In this phase, the Chimera stops moving and its body becomes un-targetable by many attacks. All forms of tether and Ice Rage just phase through harmlessly. The only thing the boss will do at this stage is the occasional harmless counterattack in response to Kratos' attacks.
1:50 - the glitch can be done the same way in the 2nd and 3rd phase as well. The glitched phase 2 Chimera is basically very relentless. It's hard to stun and it will continuously use the swipe combo attack until Kratos damages it enough to get it to the "tame" phase again.
2:27 - giving an electric massage to Chimera.
2:42 - doing the glitch in phase 3. The results are similar as in phase 1, except Chimera will use some different counterattacks to Kratos in response to his attacks. One of them - the ice breath - can actually hit him!
Imagine how much cooler it would be if Kratos travelled the world with a Chimera as a sidekick? Instead of... ugh... Atreus...
