➡️ When God moves, we can find ourselves in uncomfortable situations; it’s often the nature of the assignment. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the theme of the first week of Advent—hope—and how it can help us overcome fear and discomfort. He shares the stories of those involved with and surrounding the birth of Jesus, like Mary and Joseph, Elizabeth and Zechariah, and Anna and Simeon. They all faced situations full of uncertainty and anxiety, but through their obedience, they became a part of the greatest story ever told: when God sent His only Son to Earth to save us. God is moving in our lives today, and even though the changes may not be comfortable at first, pursuing our God-given assignments will lead to a life of purpose and meaning, as we share His perfect hope with a lost world.

➡️ It’s easy to get worked up about denominational differences, religious traditions, or government parties, but when we focus instead on submitting to God’s fundamental truths in our homes, His expressions of power become evident. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses obedience at our kitchen tables. He shares the story of the Exodus generation and the first Passover meal, where the Hebrew slaves found deliverance through obedience and a family meal. God’s presence made all the difference for those families that day, and we too can invite God into our lives when we gather to share a meal with loved ones. How we use our kitchen tables begins to determine the spiritual authority over our homes, so let’s decide to give God that place.

➡️ We’re being forced to face difficult topics and situations in culture, and that will continue. But let’s determine to do the difficult things anyway, completing our God-given assignments with diligence. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses how we can persevere in hardship by remembering what God has done for us and promises to do for us. We’re prepared to overcome when we continually remind ourselves of moments of God’s deliverance in the past, and our hope will flourish when we look to the future—to Jesus’ triumphant return. However, Pastor Allen emphasizes we still have a mission on Earth to overcome evil, and developing a character ready to lead will help us accomplish God’s purposes. We have a responsibility to the generations ahead of us, so let’s be prepared to defeat deception, fear, and failure through the power of God in our lives.
