➡️ The book of James assures us that when we draw near to God, He draws near to us. But in a world full of confusion and distraction, what does it mean to draw near to God? In this sermon, Dr. George Jackson, Pastor Allen’s dad and a founder of World Outreach Church, shares his testimony about pursuing the Lord, and he also discusses how we can change and find freedom for ourselves and our families. Moving closer to the Lord requires total and complete intentionality in every area of our lives, something that isn’t easy without the help of the Holy Spirit and godly mentors. But when we find hope and freedom, even in seasons of waiting or suffering, we can lead by example for those around us. We can absolutely trust that God will move closer to us when we pursue Him—because He was making a way ahead of us all along.

➡️ When we obey God by being baptized, God meets us and responds to our obedience. Baptism is something God does for more than something we do for Him. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the invitations God holds out to us and the importance of accepting those opportunities. He teaches specifically on water baptism, its history, and what it symbolizes: repentance, a burial and resurrection, and the beginning of a new life in Christ. Jesus Himself was baptized, and He taught His followers to do the same. If we want our lives to be transformed, then we need to take hold of every opportunity God presents us to cooperate with Him—beginning with being baptized into His Kingdom.
