Over a half a million wildebeests give birth in a 3 week period in the short grass plain of the southern Serengeti. The grass is very nutritious, full of calcium needed for milk production. We were fortunate to witness this birth in the Ngorongoro Crater this past February. Lucky Footloose Forays.
