These are mostly white-backed vultures on a dead zebra in the Ndutu area of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in northern Tanzania. The zebra was not killed by predators but just died overnight. The Nubian vultures had not shown up yet to "open" the carcass. They have the strongest beaks. The other species of vultures cannot penetrate the tough skin so they must enter through the anus (on the right), mouth or eyes to get to the juicy parts.
