Body cam Footage of Women Getting Arrested After Pushing Her Boyfriend Into the Water. On May 31, 2024, an officer was on patrol at St. Andrews State Park. At approximately 20:06, the Tallahassee Regional Communications Center (TRCC) contacted the officer regarding a domestic dispute reported in the Bear Creek area near Deer Point Lake. The officer, along with Officers Zachary Rice and Dennis Palmer, responded to the call. Officer Palmer launched a vessel at the High Point Boat Ramp near the suspected location of the vessel involved in the dispute. En route to the boat ramp, the officer requested that TRCC contact the Bay County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) to see if their helicopter could assist in locating the vessel. BCSO confirmed the helicopter would assist after refueling.
The officers boarded a vessel and headed toward the reported location. At approximately 21:20, they located the vessel near Bear Creek, under overhanging trees. The vessel, registered in Florida, had four occupants: two adults (one male and one female), two juveniles (one male and one female), and two dogs.
The adult male and female were identified, along with their respective children. To separate the parties, the officers had the female, her son, and a dog board their vessel, keeping the male and his vessel within visual distance.
The officers first spoke with the female, who explained that she was experiencing emotional distress following the recent passing of her father. She stated that during a fishing outing on the creek, the male almost hit a tree with the vessel, which led to a verbal altercation. According to her, the male grabbed sunglasses hanging around her neck, which prompted her to pull his shirt over his head and strike him multiple times.
The officers then interviewed the male, who confirmed an argument had occurred and that the female pulled his shirt over his head and struck him. However, he expressed that he did not want to get her into trouble. The officers also noted that the vessel was inoperable due to a mechanical issue. They decided to tow the vessel back to the High Point Boat Ramp, during which Officer Rice conducted a boating safety inspection, observing six empty Michelob Ultra bottles. When asked about alcohol consumption, the male responded that he had consumed “a few.”
Upon arrival at the High Point Boat Ramp around 22:20, the officers separated the parties to gather additional information. Both adults maintained their accounts of the incident, with the male reiterating that he did not wish to pursue charges against the female. The officers also spoke with the female’s daughter, age 9, who corroborated the accounts provided by the adults. Officer Rice documented visible injuries on the male.
After assessing the situation, the officers determined that the female was the primary aggressor. Both adults stated they had been in an on-and-off relationship over the past few years. The female was placed under arrest for DV battery and was transported to the Bay County Jail by Officer Rice without further incident. She arranged for a family friend to take custody of her son and dog. The male was provided with a DV brochure containing relevant contact information.
