Gibbon Meadow Geyser
Geysers are hot springs that episodically erupt columns of water. They occur in few places on Earth. The highest concentration of geysers anywhere is at the Yellowstone Hotspot Volcano (northwestern Wyoming, USA).
Gibbon Meadow Geyser is located on the western side of a large meadow west of the Gibbon River and ~east-northeast of the Sylvan Spring Group in Yellowstone's Gibbon Geyser Basin. Yellowstone’s geology department supposedly calls it “Fen Geyser”, but their work is not made public (?!?). It was first reported active on 12 June 2023 and last reported in October 2023. It usually acted as a perpetual spouter, but was inactive at times. In April 2024, Gibbon Meadow Geyser was seen steaming, but not erupting water. In May 2024, no steam was present.
