A complex of 13 spheres interconnected with 42 struts in an icosahedral form. It turns out that this is also a form that a molecular cluster of gold can take, which I did not know when I built this shape.
Uses a total of 7620 magnet balls.

$Icosahedron Of Icosahedrons | 5500+ Neodymium Magnetic Balls A large icosahedron made up of 42 smaller icosahedrons, each composed of 132 neomagnet 5mm balls, for a total of about 5500 magnets. It was interesting to me to discover that the icosahedron will tessellate like this along its edges to form a bigger version of itself. This is also an instance of the fractal property of quasi (or partial) self-similarity.
