This video presents the drum overdub track along with the two bass recordings used in Getting Better.
The first bass was recorded over the drum overdub track, but as the mix developed it lost much of its body and low-end impact. To compensate, Paul recorded a second bass part later, this time over the handclaps track, reinforcing the groove and restoring weight to the arrangement.
The resulting layered bass concept, combined with the rhythmic overdubs, reflects a production approach clearly inspired by The Beach Boys’ mid-60s studio techniques (Although applied it is a simpler way).
