Widerstandsnest 111 Wolfsschlucht (Wolf's Canyon) at Cran d’Escalles is set on the top of a cliff overlooking England. Strongpoint commander was Hauptmann Olozyk, who commanded the 2. Kompanie/I Bataillon/Grenadierregiment 115. Tactical function was the defence of the beach entrance. In 1942 a Schnabelstand (beak stand) for a machine gun was erected on the beach to cover the dead angles. In 1944 its embrasure was partly closed up in order to make it less vulnerable to frontal fire.
During the Allied invasion in 1944, the strongpoint is defended from the bunkers flanking towards the southwest, but then surrenders together with the remainder of the Cap Blanc Nez positions.
Today the position is frequently invaded by tourists.
