In this Griptape experiment, we demonstrate a custom Semantic CEL dialog tool inside Katana. Instead of manually navigating the scene or writing a CEL expression by hand, this tool allows you to type a plain English description to get exactly what you want.
Powered by a Griptape workflow and an LLM agent, the tool references Katana's CEL documentation alongside custom rules to generate the actual CEL expression based on your natural language input and the scene graph context. Watch how the generated CEL expression instantly resolves to assign a red material to a character's body.
The video also covers how to apply materials to specific custom attributes, demonstrating how every scene graph location with the attribute 'shiny' gets the red material. Apply expressions instantly without digging through the scene or the documentation!
