Dasan brought his girlfriend from Florida along for some winter flying, and they were such a great couple that I gave them the longest episode of the Friendly Skies to date! They just never stopped asking questions, and I'm always happy to chat away the afternoon in the sky. If you are a student pilot, or want to learn how to fly, test your general aviation knowledge with them! We also did some training maneuvers along the way, such as; stalls, steep turns, S-turns, and side-slips. Some of you have been asking about the steepness of the turn, since 60 degrees would not be allowed outside of the utility category. When demonstrating steep turns to passengers, I usually shoot for +/- 5 degrees within 30 degrees, and then add back pressure to mimic the feel of a steeper turn, which is usually plenty exciting for them!
Hey, did you guys know that the FAA actually certifies flight instructors to tell you everything that I try to convey in these videos? You should definitely talk to one of them instead of trusting some video you found on the internet, because who am I to tell you how to fly?
