In this video, we look at simple distillation. First, I discuss how simple distillation is used to separate a soluble substance from a solvent when we want to keep the solvent. I explain the principles behind simple distillation in terms of evaporation and condensation. We then look at the apparatus used in simple distillation, including the role of the condenser and the thermometer.
