In this video, we look at the Dalton model of an atom. We explore what Dalton proposed in his Atomic Theory of 1803. We look at what is correct about Dalton's atomic theory and what was proven incorrect by the later discovery of the subatomic particles the proton, the neutron and the electron. We look at how the discovery of isotopes also proved that Dalton's atomic theory was not fully correct.

In this video, we look at nanoparticles. First we explore the relative sizes of particles and look at what is meant by a micrometre and a nanometre. We look at what is meant by coarse particles, fine particles and nanoparticles. We then look at the surface area : volume ratio of particles and use this to explain why nanoparticles are useful. Finally, we explore the potential negative effects of nanoparticles.
