In this video, we look at calculations involving magnification. First we explore how to determine the size of organelles from a microscope image using a scale bar. We then look at how we can use an equation to determine the magnification of an image and how to determine the actual size of an organelle.

In this video, we look at nanoparticles. First we explore the relative sizes of particles and look at what is meant by a micrometre and a nanometre. We look at what is meant by coarse particles, fine particles and nanoparticles. We then look at the surface area : volume ratio of particles and use this to explain why nanoparticles are useful. Finally, we explore the potential negative effects of nanoparticles.
