The Jericho Connection | Gavin Ortlund MISUNDERSTANDS the Problem of Private Judgment in Protestantism @thejerichoconnection3473 | Uploaded December 2023 | Updated October 2024, 9 hours ago.
Dr. Gavin Ortlund, @TruthUnites , takes on the objection regarding the problem of private judgment in Protestantism. He argues that the Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church suffer exactly the same problem. Gavin claims that there is absolutely no difference between the Protestant framework and the Catholic/Eastern Orthodox framework: everyone will have to eventually exercise his/her own private judgment to decide which church to join. But is this what we refer to when we raise the problem of private judgment in Protestantism? And is there really no difference between the Protestant framework and the Apostolic church framework?
