Just some tasting, and growing bit's of 1 of the greatest tasting fruit in the world. Achacha, Achachairu, Garcinia Humilis.
I've come to realise the Achacha is 1 of my best performing trees. Semi fast growing (a lot faster then other Garcinia varieties) Very low maintenance. Easily cold tolerant in my subtropical climate. Can grow in cooler climates down to 0 degrees Celsius. Likes water and humidity but can withstand long dry periods.
Small plant's I've grown from seed can also withstand a few weeks without rain. Once watered will bounce back quickly. Much hardier then most other Garcinia's.
Takes approx 8years to fruit. Can get grafted varieties but they are very hard to come by and will cost you a pretty penny if you find one.
