Another 1st taste from my home grown fruit forest, the Giant Granadilla. Different to the standard more common Granadilla, this giant variety is from South America. Very fast growth which can overtake any standard trellis.
Will flower from 1st year of planting, but most all flowers need hand pollinating to help fruit set.
Smell and taste is amazing. Similar to standard passionfruit, though not as sweet or sour - a perfect blend in the middle. The thick rind is edible though does not have much flavour. Green fruit's can also be used in cooking.
It is a beautiful vine, with few pests leaving the large leaves on full display. Can grow from cuttings as well. Flowers constantly in my subtropical climate, from Spring into Autumn.
