Head-on, it is a bright, crisp OLED that looks like a flagship should. Tilt it just a little, and the screen basically disappears for everyone else. Not dim. Not blurry. Just gone.
What makes it feel different is that it has the confidence of real hardware. This is not a software blur, and it is not the old screen protector compromise that turns a gorgeous display into a gray smudge. Samsung is controlling how light leaves the panel at the pixel level, so the person next to you sees an unreadable slab of glass while you keep the full experience.
And Samsung did not stop at the party trick. The controls are actually the point: always-on for commutes, per-app so your banking and messages can trigger it automatically, and a notifications-only mode that protects just the pop-ups while the rest of your screen stays normal. There is a trade-off in the most aggressive setting where the image can look a bit more muted, but for the peace of mind in public, it feels like a trade most people will happily make.
